Roydent C-Files are stainless steel endodontic hand files engineered to be stiffer than standard files so they can negotiate calcified, sclerosed, and constricted root canals with ease. This variant is the ISO size #06 file in the 21mm working length, one of the smaller scouting sizes used for initial canal negotiation and glide path establishment. Distributed under the Roydent (Zipperer) brand, C-Files are heat tempered for added stiffness while retaining enough flexibility to follow the canal, with sharp cutting edges twisted to the tip that break through calcification and create initial access where conventional K-Files stall.

The defining clinical feature of the C-File is its conical, non cutting tip, which follows the canal curve rather than cutting into the outer wall. This reduces the risk of ledging, transportation, and perforation when scouting hard, narrow apical anatomy. In the smaller scouting sizes the cutting blades use a square cross section for strength and tactile feedback, while larger sizes transition to a triangular cross section for added flexibility and sharpness, so safety, flexibility, and cutting efficiency are balanced across the full size range.

Each file carries a pre-applied silicone stop that is color coded by length, with the 21mm length identified by a white stop for instant chairside length recognition. The contoured, ribbed handle gives exceptional tactile control and reduces finger fatigue during repeated reaming and scouting strokes, and the handle is numbered and color coded with the ISO symbol for easier size identification. C-Files integrate cleanly into any conventional hand filing sequence, typically used ahead of K-Files, reamers, or NiTi rotary instruments once the canal has been opened. Each box contains 6 files of a single ISO size and length.
