The 15/30 pattern is a long-established universal scaler design: the #15 end is configured with an angulation suited to anterior teeth and accessible posterior facial/lingual surfaces, while the #30 end provides a complementary angulation that reaches the contralateral surfaces and tighter posterior interproximal areas. Together the two ends allow the clinician to complete a full-mouth supragingival scaling sequence with a single instrument — significantly more efficient than switching between two single-ended scalers. Each working end features the classic sickle profile: a triangular cross-section with two sharp cutting edges that converge to a sharp pointed tip.
