This stress-distribution behavior significantly reduces the risk of catastrophic vertical root fracture that has historically been associated with rigid metal post systems. Size 3 represents the most commonly used Carbonite diameter, suitable for the majority of premolar and molar post-spaces and many anterior teeth where moderate retention is required. The carbon fiber composition is fully radiopaque, enabling post-position and depth verification on standard periapical radiographs after cementation. The post surface accepts dental adhesive primers and bonds reliably with dual-cure resin cements for predictable mechanical retention. The rigid longitudinal structure supports both direct composite cores and indirect ceramic core build-ups, while the dentine-matched flexibility prevents stress concentration at the apical tip.
